DIDA

DIDA's partners

DIDA owns and manages the Consett Innovation Centre. A team of experts from DIDA, and its associates, provides the business and technical support for clients of the centre.

DIDA was formed following the closure of the Consett steelworks in 1982. Since then, it has played a major role in the re-development of the industrial and business base of Derwentside. Companies such as Derwent Valley Foods (maker of the famous Phileas Fogg snacks), Integrated Micro Products (sold for $96m to Sun Microsystems of the US), Bioprocessing (now part of the US based Millipore Corporation) and CAV Aerospace (previously known as Aerospace Systems and Technologies 2000) are examples from a highly successful portfolio of venture capital backed start-up businesses assisted by DIDA.

DIDA has a long track record in assisting technology related ventures. It offers strategic business planning and access to venture capital and other forms of funding, including grant aid. This will be backed up by technical support from our expert business associates who have direct experience in setting up and running small technology related businesses.
